Why do I need a life coach
November 27th, 2011, Life Coaching
The value of a good Life Coach is being realised more and more by people seeking improvement. These people understand that attempting to analyse their own performance objectively can be as difficult as trying to paint a picture blindfolded, or building a complex piece of machinery without the instructions. Important aspects are inevitably overlooked. Hence, an external influence, or objective point of view is imperative when delving into the depths of your own motivations, thoughts, and actions. The path to change is made easier, quicker, and more effective when guidance is applied. People who implement the skills of a coach are more focused, more goal-orientated and more successful. Life Coaching is designed to help you succeed at life!
Michael Breen has been a life coach in Sydney since 2001 and can assist anyone wanting to gain more from life. His approach is based on intuitively responding to your needs and applying down to earth processes enabling you you to effectively achieve your goals. He operates on the lower north shore.
“I work with you to tailor a unique programme to suit you, your circumstances and needs. Together, we will get you started on effective training, and with continued support help you get the results you want. I can save you a lot of the time it would normally take for you to do it on your own.”
Why do I need a life coach?
Dale Carnegie summed it up best…
“When dealing with people, remember you are not dealing with creatures of logic, but with creatures of emotion, creatures bristling with prejudice and motivated by pride and vanity.”
So then it becomes a simple process of learning how to respond to these “creatures” effectively. One on one coaching is probably the most effective way of achieving this.
Designing Your Life
Once you have decided what it is that you need to create a more deserving reality, we embark on the implementation process… the road to self-mastery!
The fundamental areas we will cover include:
Relaxation and maintaining balance
Most people’s belief about relaxation limits their ability to use it. Relaxation can be used as a tool for focusing energies more effectively on the job at hand. Techniques of centering can help you achieve this and are used by many successful people.
Communication
Most people have been educated in the mechanics of reading and writing in a more or less organised way. We learnt how to listen and speak, present an image and read body language through trial and error. A good communicator is one who is both assertive and receptive and is able to detach from situations when circumstances warrant in order making accurate observations.
Self-esteem
Self-esteem is of central importance in our ability to function and feel alive. Poor self-esteem can result in self-destructive behavior and distorted perceptions, as well as less obvious conditions such as the inability to communicate effectively through fear of inadequacy. Your self-image can be increased quickly when making use of certain techniques.
Negotiation
Most people learn to negotiate almost entirely by trial and error and from the example of others. This method can leave quite a lot to chance. Having greater confidence in your ability to negotiate will make a positive difference to your relationships with others and your perception of yourself.
Review Your Life
Conflicts and fears from the distant past may continue to create psychological problems in our immediate lives. The knowledge gained from exploring one’s past can offer insight into certain characteristic behaviors and relationship choices. How can you obtain the right focus for optimum personal development? Remember that you find happiness only when you stop trying to force it. Life is simply a journey… be sure to enjoy the ride!

How we structure your program is completely dependent on your current needs. Whether weekly, fortnightly or monthly is entirely up to you. You decide what you want to achieve, and what you need to reach your goals. I support your goals through coaching sessions, which include; caring encouragement, tools, tips, and contact by phone or email where required. Each session usually runs for one hour.
How quickly you progress through the programme will depend completely on the amount of work you put in. The tools need practical application in order to be effective. As a guide, three months should put you well on the road to self-mastery providing, of course, that you’ve done your homework.
Whatever your requirements, I can personalise the service to suit you. This is an investment in yourself, which will give you a return many times more valuable than the money you put in. You will become more valuable, confident and happy.
If you would like to book a session simply get in contact. I am located in St Leonards, on the lower north shore of Sydney for face to face sessions, and conduct either Skype or phone sessions if you live elsewhere in Australia.
